CUSTOM TIMBER ADVENTURE VANS AND COMPLETE CONVERSIONS

We transform empty shells and existing setups into high-end, off-grid timber adventure vans. Whether you are starting from zero, searching for the right base vehicle, or upgrading an old build, we handle the entire project in-house: architectural carpentry, off-grid electrical, self-containment plumbing, and custom upholstery. Everything is built to New Zealand trade standards with accessible service channels, giving you a durable, road-ready vehicle engineered for longevity and easy future modifications.

Vehicle Sourcing and Pre-Purchase Advisory

Expert assessment of chassis size, roof clearance, payload capacity (GVM), and drivetrain efficiency to ensure you invest in the right base platform before building starts.

Bespoke Timber Carpentry and Modular Joinery

Handcrafted timber framing and custom cabinetry assembled with mechanical fixings rather than permanent glues. Engineered to handle road vibration while allowing clean panel access, easy servicing, and layout adjustments without destroying the timber finish.

Van Renovations and System Modernisations

Renovations, modernisations, and partial remodels on vehicles at any stage. From stripping back an empty van for a fresh build to reconfiguring layouts, fixing timber damage, or upgrading power systems in an existing conversion.

Off-Grid 12V Electrical Systems

Complete auxiliary power setups including lithium battery banks, MPPT solar charging, pure sine wave inverters, and DC-to-DC alternator chargers. All wiring runs through accessible channels for simple diagnostics and future capacity expansion.

Plumbing and Certified Self-Containment

Residential-grade tapware, pressure pumps, and integrated water tanks built to New Zealand Green Sticker self-containment standards, with all fittings placed for easy leak checks and seasonal draining.

VENTILATION AND EXTRACTOR FAN INSTALLATION

Installation of passive or high-flow, reversible 12V roof extractor fans engineered for active temperature regulation, cooking fume extraction, and moisture management. Every roof penetration is precision-cut, treated against corrosion, and bonded with industrial Sikaflex 552 hybrid polymer to guarantee zero water ingress under road vibration, finished with concealed wiring and provided face plates.

Custom Upholstery and Thermal Window Treatments

Tailored seating cushions, mattress systems, and magnetic blackout thermal curtains made with durable, moisture-resistant, commercial-grade fabrics.

Craftsmanship Guarantee

Kronos Workshop Craftsmanship Guarantee and Return-to-Base Break in Service

Every custom build is engineered to New Zealand trade standards to handle dynamic road conditions. To support your vehicle during its initial settlement phase, all complete conversions include complimentary 6-month in-house craftsmanship support at our workshop, alongside all statutory rights under New Zealand law.

6-Month Complimentary Workshop Break-In and Tuning

Vans experience continuous micro-vibrations, thermal expansion, and humidity changes during initial travel. Within the first six months from handover, all adjustment labor performed by Sam at our workshop is 100 percent free of charge:

  • Cabinet alignment, hinge tuning, and drawer runner re-calibration as timber acclimatizes.
  • Fastener torque verification and mechanical fixing tightening.
  • In-house plumbing joint inspections, seal checks, and pump fitting audits.
  • In-house 12V electrical termination and fuse block security checks.

Return-To-Base Policy and Geographic Limitations

Our craftsmanship guarantee and break-in service operate strictly on a Return-to-Base (RTB) workshop policy:

Location of Service:

All complimentary warranty labor, diagnostic testing, and break-in adjustments must be performed directly by Sam at the Cronos workshop.

Owner Transport Responsibility:

The vehicle owner is entirely responsible for delivering and collecting the vehicle to and from our workshop.

Remote Expense Exclusion:

We do not cover, reimburse, or accept liability for travel costs, fuel, ferry crossings, towing, accommodation, vehicle freight, or third-party mechanical or trade repair invoices incurred while traveling outside our workshop location (including the South Island or remote regions).

Third-Party Work:

Any unauthorized modifications or third-party repairs conducted on our custom cabinetry, plumbing, or electrical work without prior written authorization will void craftsmanship coverage on those specific components.

Craftsmanship Coverage Scope

This warranty covers direct in-house fabrication and installation work:

  • Structural framing, bespoke cabinetry, solid benchtops, and joinery integrity.
  • In-house 12V electrical wiring runs, distribution setups, switch panels, and circuit connections.
  • Custom plumbing layouts, pipe installations, and freshwater or greywater mounting brackets.
  • Mechanical cabinet fasteners and internal structural mountings.

Third-Party Appliances and Products

External equipment (including lithium batteries, inverters, MPPT solar controllers, DC-to-DC chargers, water pumps, fans, and fridges) is covered directly by the respective manufacturers.

Handover documentation includes all manufacturer warranty details and local New Zealand distributor contacts.

Internal defects within third-party appliances must be claimed through the component manufacturer.

Exclusions

Base vehicle mechanical, engine, drivetrain, chassis, and factory automotive electrical systems.

Normal cosmetic wear and tear, surface timber patina, stone chips, and environmental weathering.

Damage caused by off-road impact, overloading beyond legal payload capacity, unauthorized system modifications, or failure to follow operational guidelines.
